Last night I was out driving around at about midnight and I see a red Lotus Espirit travelling in the opposite direction. I have seen this guy out before and I have always wanted to go him but I have never been able to hook up to do so. Anyhow I do a u-turn at the next break in the median and attempt to catch up to him. I eventually do and the timing could not have been any better since he was ahead a little slowing for a freshly turned red light. As I approach the stop the light I turn up my boost to 1.5 bar and slowly come to a stop beside him. I have my windows rolled up and I have pretty dark tint so it is pretty difficult to see in especially at night. Anyhow I see that he is looking over at my car since his window is down. The light changes and we both take over slowly and cross the intersection. I shift into second at about 5000 rpm and the blow off valves scream and I am about a fender ahead of him both of us still going fairly slow. As we are travelling in second gear the pace picks up a bit and I am right at 4000 to 4200 rpm ( my perfect range) and I am kind of egging him on. This gets him and he pins and I do the same. I shift at about 6500 into third and I am about 1 car length ahead shift again into 4th and now I am about 3 cars ahead and then into fifth at about 6500 again and I know he is toast. I look back and he is about 8 to ten car lengths back. I brake hard and slow right down to about 60 km/hr and glide up to the next stop light. ( No NOS was used ) I roll down my passenger side and he pulls up along side and he says to me nice car and I compliment him on his car and say that the Espirit is my dream car and his car looks awesome. He asked me if I am the guy with the 500 hp 300 and I asked him how he knew and he said that he was speaking to guys at the shop who built my car and apparenly they were speaking about it. He said that he saw it there one time before and that he recognized my wheels. He also said at least I don't feel that bad now know that it was your car that beat me and not a stock one. We both laughed. Anyhow the light changed and we both took off and at the next interesection I turned off and he continued on. As I turned off we waved to one another and he he pinned it. Man those Lotus V-8s sound cool! Later.
